Do you remember this teaser?

Well.. hmm.. I went to Manila! Yes, MANILA, baby!
It has already been a week since I got back from my Manila Trip. This trip is the very reason why I wasn’t around during my school’s Intramural Games Week.. However, no regrets at all. This is my first time flying, my first time going to Manila, and a lot more firsts. What was the reason for this trip, you ask? Well, it’s something school-related (that’s why I don’t regret missing out this year’s Intrams)
So yeah, I was with my mother for this trip. She knows a bit of Manila, so it’s safer going with her than being alone. We were housed in a relative’s house during our 4-day stay there.
I was really anticipating this trip for the following reasons:
1.) Riding the airplane. Yahaha, ya’ll know how much I want to ride an airplane. I couldn’t contain myself when I got hold of my ticket (and so I published it here immediately!!). While I was in the plane going to Manila, there were lots of things going through my mind. I was nervous! Hahaha. What if this plane would have engine trouble and crash into the sea or the mountains? Lol. I guess this is the effect of watching that show in National Geographic Channel called Air Crash Investigation.
2.) The Subway. Wohooo! I wanted to try this ride too! I’m only able to see this kind of transportation in movies! Hahaha.
3.) Curious about Manila. I think it’s every probinsyana’s dream of going to the capital. I wanted to experience what it’s like living there, and be able to compare the place with my home province.
And it didn’t disappoint!
The kid in me was amazed with the various sights that unveiled as soon as the plane touched down. (even the airport itself, i liked!) While on our way to the house we’ll be staying, we passed by this area of flyovers! (yeah right, mega flyovers!) and, much to my astonishment, pink-colored skywalks! I thought it was cool to have such system. Luckily, there wasn’t any sign of slow traffic.
We went to the Museo Pambata, SM Mall of Asia, Redemptorist Church in Baclaran, SM Bicutan, and the Trinoma. I loved the most our train rides! It was suave. Unfortunately though, I could take pictures of the vicinity because I was too scared to use my camera in such a public place. Ma-dekwat pa lang! Naku!
One memorable experience was when we went to Trinoma to celebrate my mother’s birthday. Tita Virgie was there to treat us dinner. I didn’t know that there was going to be a mall show @ 7pm. That’s why the mall was jampacked, much to my curiousity. Turns out, the featured artist in the show is none other than the Jabbawockeez! Yes,the JABBAWOCKEEZ, the champion group in America’s Best Dance Crew Season 1, with Billy Crawford as their guest! And I was like, “whoah. how lucky!”. HOWEVER, I didn’t managed to get a snap of them because I was wayyy too far from the stage! Sheezzz..there’s too many people in all floors surrounding the stage and I couldn’t squeeze myself enough. *sigh. It was getting late and already starting to rain, so we just decided to go home. After the dinner of course.
The following day, we took the flight back to Cebu. This particular flight was a bit shaky! It wasn’t the same as the previous flight we took. I think it was because of strong winds up in the sky, because a storm was starting to build up that time. I got scared when the airplane suddenly dropped, say, about a feet? Hahaha..I was thinking, “omo omo, we might crash!”
But ahhh, thankfully we reached Mactan-Cebu airport safely.
Looking back at the 4 days spent in Manila, I think it was an enriching experience. I now know what everyday life like in the capital. There’s really a difference between theirs and our way of life in the province. Not that I don’t like it there, it’s just that their lifestyle is way too different with what I’m used to.
The point in this post is that I’m lucky to have been to Manila. Thanks to my parents, naka-sakay ra jud ug airplane ug train ang probinsyana. Yeheyy, another dream achieved!
